Helena Montana

Huh? Dude. I can't even put one out!! I was all set to throw one up in my good spot over this dead week, just to see what might be wandering around. But I realized wolf season starts tomorrow and I have a wolf tag, so I shot myself in the butt on that one too.

Could have had some good pics of some giant grizzlies tearing up a neighbor's orchard, but that didn't work out either. He got some cool pics though. One of them was a true behemoth.

I am excited to see some new country. I see some big bulls being killed by some guys with Helena addys, I assume they aren't going too far to do that. But, right now it's more important to get things in order and get somewhat settled in. This whole archery season has kind of gone down the chitter. I would like to run into a bull before I leave here, rather than trying to figure out new country.

I'd be willing to trade some local elk info for a shot at your secret spring bear spot. PM me if interested.

I am hoping to meet some hunt talk folks over there too!

My job will have me travel ALL OVER MT, so in the future, there will be pms and phone calls letting you guys know I am in town, so we will all have to meet.

Keep it going gents. I am soon to be relocating to Helena as I landed a pretty good gig there. I wanna hear more!! You can throw in some hunting spots while you are at it! LOL.

How can you have already landed a good gig in Helena? The election hasn't taken place yet:D

Brewhouse has some good food. Best prime rib sandwich in town. Emilano's is a great Mexican restaurants along with Los Cazedores just out of town. There is a pizza place in East Helena that is awesome, used to be Leaning Tower of Pizza, not sure if that is still the name. Suds Hut has the best fried chicken I've eaten. Silver Star is okay, but crazyily over priced unless you get the bar menu, and they have the most awesome BLT on the bar menu. More bacon than you know what to do with. MT City Bar and Grill has the best prime rib. Windbag is great, but if you go there, you have to get the deep fried mushrooms. I will eat that for a meal at lunch time. Fusion Grill has great burgers. Riley's has good food as stated above. On Broadway is another good Italian restaurant.

Sorry, probably too much info.

I agree, Blackfoot is a great brewery, but I also am a big fan of Lewis And Clark. Both are better than most. Blackfoot has more of a "hoppy" taste to their beer with is usually a big hit with Micro brew fans.

For things to do, I really like the tour train that goes around town. The Museum is really cool also, but not anywhere near as good as the Bozeman museum. The drive to Lincoln is nice and you can make a good loop around in multiple directions. I haven't been, but I hear the Saints game are pretty fun. Lots of outdoor stuff, and lots of good drives. Oh, and the town of Elkhorn(ghost town) is a great drive into the Elkhorn mountains.

I'm a big fan of MT City Grill. Best Hotwings I have ever had. Great prime rib and good salmon. Best thing is they do all you can eat bbq ribs on tuesday nights, and 2.00 drafts and .50 wings when NFL games are on. I eat a lot of wings and drink a lot of beer there while watching games, especially on thursday and monday nights. Their wings and prices are far better than Buffalo Wild Wings and the Overland Express.

Brewhouse is a decent place to go. Had a great time and good food at Windbag. Blackfoot is very worth visiting and after they close shop Miller time reminds me of a college bar in some regards.

This town is VERY pro Obama for what it's worth!

Very cool historic architecture here. Well maintained town and they have done a good job of incorporating new development in with existing buildings and infrastructure.

Not saying the weather is always this way but damn is it windy! Great scenery and plenty of outdoors for a guy to enjoy.
