Just got this email...time to contact another committee to stop yet another waste of taxpayer funds

Dear MT BHA Member,

First an update....Hearing on HB 140 (FWP funding) scheduled for Mar 7 has been postponed with no new hearing date yet.

HB-496
You would think the legislature would be worn out on land transfer, but Rep Kerry White (Bozeman ) has introduced a bill HB 496 which would spend taxpayer money on yet another study of land transfer or transfer management to the State. It has been well documented that the State cannot afford to manage lands now under federal ownership and management.

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE TRANSFER OF PUBLIC LAND FEASIBILITY TASK FORCE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF STATE ASSUMPTION OF OWNERSHIP OR MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC LAND CURRENTLY ADMINISTERED BY THE UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE AND THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT, EXCEPT FOR CONGRESSIONALLY DESIGNATED WILDERNESS AREAS; REQUIRING A FINAL REPORT; APPROPRIATING FUNDS; PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATES; AND PROVIDING A TERMINATION DATE."

Hearing on Fri March 6 at 3 pm in Room 172 (House Natural Resources Committee) . The American Lands Council out of Utah just sent an alert requesting Montanan's support this bill!!

Please oppose by contacting the House Natural Resources committee via online comment form

Sincerely,
Greg Munther

Several states have similar legislation working their way through them. That tells me thst their is a coordinated effort out of South Jordan Utah to get states to follow Utah's lead regardless of what the various sponsors claim.

Friday, 3 pm in room 172. Be there and let's put this issue down in Montana. Do we really need another 2 year study on the issue? The Legislature just spent 2 years looking at this and declined to endorse transfer. Now they want another bite of the apple, and $35,000 to do it. I don't know about you, but seems like throwing good money after bad.

It's a joke. It's a welfare handout to the ALC in South Jordan, UT. They get their teeth handed to them at every turn, so rather than continuing to fund their own lost causes, they come to state legislatures and buy votes.

Kerry White of Bozeman stands out as one of those who seems on standby to help those out of state interests. This bill is proof positive. He will carry their water to the ends of the earth. His votes make you wonder if he is part of the Utah delegation of the Montana Legislature.

Contact him and others on the committee at the links below. They are the seated members of the House Natural Resource Committee that will hear HB 496.

No surprise local crackpot Kerry White has his name on this, in his role as hand maiden and mouthpiece for this Utah based posse.

Come on up to Helena and tell the committee you think this is a bad idea. We need folks in the hearing.
