Ick. I've tried Lutefisk. No thanks. mtmuleyFermented shark: hákarl - pungent, chewy, sharp ammonia flavor and strong after taste. I tried some last summer, very small piece, the local liquor helped it go down.
I’m guessing there is a some variation across breeds of horses.Hmmm, the stuff I had was really dark colored.
Wonder what the difference could be?
That would have nothing to do with the federal law - Taylor Grazing act that was used to over turn it though, right?I suppose the difference is that horses are considered 'wildlife' and bison are considered livestock in Montana I believe.
Iceland here I come!! Wonder what kind of whale...Iceland has whale and horse on the menu

A delicacy in Iceland. Our guide said that horses are honored, worshiped and pampered. But they eat the dumb ones...Not sure if some of you know - but the DOI recently reversed grazing leases for American Prairie Reserve for bison on BLM land. Let me start by saying - in my ideal world - bison would be provided opportunities to graze on public land. To me what's of significance - the reversal was based on the intent of these animals not being raised for "production" - with the logic that if animals are grazing on public land they need to be for raised for consumption. I can understand and appreciate the rationale, even though I don't like it.
That being the case - why and how are there horses eating on BLM land that's leased? When's the last time you ordered a horse quarter pounder?
