Has anyone else seen an ostrich looking thing walking through the woods?

5 years ago I saw this thing that looked like an ostrich or an emu just casually walking through the woods. One of my friends said he saw it too. I'm from Kent county Delaware, and a skeptical person if that helps.

Someone's fence must not have been bird proof. There are several area emu raising properties in SE Kansas

Had an Emu in the area just last year. People were seeing it daily. Sure it escaped from someone's yard/fence.

There are no ostrich farms anywhere near me. I dont even think theres one in my state.

Non game species, if I saw one I would bring back proof, and probably deep fry it..

I have seen emu here in NJ. Believe or not one of the local naval bases were using them to guard certain parts of the perimeter , apparently they are extremely territorial birds and will attack any trespasser of their turf, however this apparently lasted only a short time, due to the fact that the birds eventually turned on their caretakers and were soon culled afterwards. Also apparently a number of ostrich and or emu managed to escape Six Flags/ Great Adventure in Jackson ,NJ and haunted and terrorized the town for a bit until they were captured, but this was all a few years ago.

saw one running down a county road in AL about 12-15 yr ago. Several country folks had been raising them for a processor, he went under and some folks turned them loose instead of slaughtering them. Talked to a friend who saw it in the same area several months later. I know for a fact they are fast!
