Had a backyard visitor just now

We had a family of them living in the wooded section next to us , but they seem to come and go .
We haven’t seen one in a while. I’m glad they’re back .
Too close for comfort. I would have taken a shot with something other than a camera.
Too residential for that , and they keep the rodent population down.

They are great hunters, cats, dogs etc. We have quite a few. As long as they stay in their space and away from mine, they are cool to watch.

Shot them on sight on the ranch. I regret that now. We never lost so much as a chicken to one. Skunks and raccoons were another story.
We have rats down here attracted to the bird seed on the ground under my feeders .
I’m hoping this guy stays around long enough to put a big dent in the population.
Opossums down here , and Coons , and I know I’ll regret this , but no Skunks yet .
😂

It's good that you were able to keep them from your domestic animals. We get them in the cameras regularly. Like I said, if they stay in their place and not in mine they are great to watch.

Amazing how well they blend into their environment. Can see them when they are moving, but your eyes play tricks trying to see them when they stop.
