Due to current circumstances, my gym is closed and I wouldn’t go if it wasn’t.

The main thing I am going to miss is the Stairmaster, being a flatlander at 60 feet above sea level with elevation changes around my home being generally less than 10 feet.

I am thinking of building a 16” step and doing step ups and spending as much time going up and down the River levee as I can in addition to the hiking that I will be doing anyway.

Anybody have other ideas besides buying a Stairmaster? I may do that next year but it isn’t in the budget this year.

I put my pack on with as much weight as I can and do squats, lunges, side lunges, step ups, calf raises, etc. I also do online yoga and go for hikes whenever I can, even if its a short, flat trail at my nephew's pace.

I have a park that's a half mile loop... I've been doing box jumps on a picnic table(figured no one is eating there anymore), push ups, sit ups, pulls ups on a tree branch then run a half mile. Repeat as desired. Did 6 rounds yesterday after a 4 mile hike and wanted to fall over, I think I could get away from gym memberships.

I just ordered a kettlebell and am putting a book on my kindle with a workout program from Pavel something or other.

Probably re-visit my bodyweight exercise book too - You Are Your Own Gym. Really good as it has workout programs from beginner to expert that you can follow.

There are countless bodyweight circuits that you can find online or even create on your own. Check out MTN Tough Fitness out of Bozeman. They have some awesome stuff available for everyone, and a ton more minimal equipment stuff you can purchase. If you have the desire to get your workouts done, then you have gotten past the hardest part! Now it's just executing them every day.

I find it interesting that guys who want to be in shape for hunting even go to the gym. Put in rock in a backpack and walk somewhere. It's that easy.
