First semi gut-shot ever today, quartering away, clipped gut, liver, heart, stopped in the far shoulder. Deer ran 40 yards and went to sleep.

Inside was full of grass. Packed him full of snow and emptied everything out a few times.

Pulled the tenderloins, washed and trimmed them. Do I toss em, or send it. No stank at the moment.

Depends on look and smell. I gut shot an antelope and didn’t like the way one of the tenderloins smelled or looked. I fed it to the dog vs. tossing it though. He didn’t seem to mind.

If it's a fresh shot and tenderloin don't have any blood shot, keep em. Only the meat with blood shot dark red to almost black is what I would throw away. As long as you cleaned them and got them cooled down they will be plenty good and tasty.

All the grass and seeds cleaned off pretty easy, no blood shot. Thankfully it was -18C (0F) this morning, so that helped the situation lol.
