Griz or Black Bear?

Wow. That is a tough one. The only grizzly-ish quality I see is the potentially dished face. Everything else is black bear. I'm going with black bear.

The close up photo looks too grizzly-ish for me to take the shot in a hunting scenario.

I’m 95% sure that’s a black bear. But the other 5% would keep me from shooting it if hunting…

There is a hump. No there isnt. Maybe there is? Kinda dished face, but not really. Tough one. 68% black. 32% griz

Face shape matters way more than a shoulder hump. That’s a griz, lots of NW Montana grizzlies are more solid colored like that in my experience.

I put it in the would not shoot category also, but Its a tough one. That head and face in the close up just looks to much like a griz.
