I am a member of a fraternity. In fact, while I was there 85% of the campus was 'Greek'. Though being a small school (850ish students), liberal arts, and all-male it was a different place than most colleges. I recognize that and also recognize that having a house GPA well over 3.0 is also not the norm. Not sure if I would have joined one at a larger institution.
I would encourage my sons to join one, but wouldn't be butt-hurt if they didn't. Great times, great friends, and lots was learned.
