Gravally Range Mtn(s) - Fire

If you hunt the Gravallies . . . there is a 6,000 + acre fire. It is named the Eureka Fire and it has burned from Eureka Basin up towards Black Butte. It is still going.

This fire is pretty much contained and should be out in the next few days. I followed this one very close as some of my friends run cattle up there and I hunt it a lot. The fire burned up the head of coal creek, and part of the east fork.....it'll be interesting to see how things look come hunting season.

The area closure was rescinded today, although there are still some road closures in place.

On my way up there tomorrow to check on it. I was there the other day and it never burned up to much of my hunting country, mostly stayed on top the ridge. Will see tomorrow how it looks now that they are getting a handle on it.
