Picked up a handful of rainbows stripping a crayfish pattern yesterday on the river.
Bobber fishing a balanced leech has been the ticket on stillwater.

I fished midges today too, but there’s a few spots that I just can’t resist swinging a spoon through… Did see some March browns coming off, next time I’m bringing the 3wt and dries.

Such a great fishery. Just out of my sphere.
I used to swing Mepps when I was a kid. The strikes were always a thrill.
I should buy a spinning rod and try that for old times sake. I probably wouldn't be able to cast though, without making a mess.

I’ve been enjoying messing around with it. A big rainbow is a hell of a lot of fun on a 7 foot ultra light rod.

I thought i never would get in to bobber fishing with a fly rod. But, jeez, a balanced leech catches a ton of fish.
Never say never.
