Only one deer this year so far. Freezer has room, that being said, duck jerky doesn't last long around here.

Plenty of goldeneye. I usually don't shoot them, but the first day was very slow early and GuNR was bashing me for not shooting. After skinning this one, I remembered why I don't like shooting them. Pretty birds and plenty of action, but I try to pass.

Pretty tough to find that sixth bird this time of year without taking a goldeneye. All I saw this weekend were mallards and eyes. I was dreaming of that colored up pin or wig, but not to be.

About time to hit the hard water.

Nice looking drakes. I just love late season mallards, one of the prettiest birds there are.

The huns were holding very well today. Henry and I brought home six partridges and one red leg.

Duck breast around a sliver of jalapeno wrapped with a half strip of bacon and on the grill, would save your jerky......
