Im losing the war with cockleburs. I have all kinds of brushes and they all have their strengths but removing burs isn't one of them. Any brush recommendations?

I tried many when I switched to Setters then was given a tip by a flusher guy. These have worked very well for me, switching back & forth to work out the burrs & such.

The Original Mars is great, mine is just under 2" wide.
The Kritter Katcher is really good at the small stuff. I use it without the plastic cover.

My thought at the title was "good luck". Glad to see there's a couple tools to make it easier.

Try kids no more tangle spray to ease the cockleburs and other things out.
Had a shetland pony get his tail totally full of cockleburs. Took me over a year to get them out. You didn't want to get hit by his tail.

Took everyones advice. The mars rake is a gift from God. So much better than combs and brushes. Amazing how much undercoat it removes, need to be careful with that.

This post highlights one of the reasons I got a lab rather than a setter or a small munsterlander.

But I think I’ll get one of those rakes regardless.

Work a little detangler into the fur before you head into the field. Helps subsequent burr removal with my golden. We'll be getting her trimmed up tighter this fall as well.
