Gators

In Florida, by far the most common way is to sneak up in a little boat and throw a treble hook over them on a heavy fishing pole. Then attach a harpoon and kill with a bang stick. Some bows/crossbows. Some run and gun harpooning. On private land you can shoot them. Public hunts = No guns allowed in the boat. From 5 pm to 10 am so almost exclusively at night.

Tagged out on Saturday. 10' and 10' 4". Took the photo on the slow ride back just after sunrise.

The problem with legal 'gator hunting is that the states want the big ones killed and let the smaller ones grow. Hell, the best eating ones are in the 4-6 foot size range.

Wow, that is impressive. Do you ever have anything made with the hide?

We have a bunch of skulls. All my cousins, niece and nephew have gator tooth neclaces. Getting my wife a purse made professionally this year. Lets hope its ready for christmas!

My buddy got a 10' 10" last night. Almost sunk the boat. The gator bit the side and bottom at the same time and put 2 holes the size of a .44 in his aluminum boat. Darn nice gator though.

Here, this is a little different...
