Friday Tunage - Transformational Inspiration

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gBV-Nzq7Pg

Every time I take a look inside inside that old and fabled book
I'm blinded and reminded of the pain caused by some old man in the sky
Marijuana, LSD, Psilocybin, and DMT
They all changed the way I see
But love's the only thing that ever saved my life

wow, loved this thread, listened to everything posted and enjoyed them all

BrentD. Always enjoyed "old man" and remember Neil, Jackson and also The Eagles when they were still unknown or playing back up for Linda

Sytes, always enjoyed Armstrong----and in reference to your Theodore Roosevelt quote,

My husband use to love----John Wayne, America the Beautiful---John Cash, Ragged Old Flag--Red Skelton ( or John Wayne ) Pledge of Allegiance

But he also had a keen sense of humor and liked , Tom T Hall's---Faster Horses, Younger women, Older Whiskey, More Money. (-:

Thank you for this thread, as I not only enjoyed the music posted but as you can see it also brought back other beloved memories

Stop by on Fridays and chime in. :hump:

tradewind, thank you sir. the thread did get me thinking and humming ----- philosophically speaking (-: Peter, Paul and Mary--Blowing in the wind The mamas and papas -california dreaming I even thought of Kenny Rogers, The Gambler. good message, "you've got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them---and know when RUN" Kris --Me and Bobby Magee--actually several songs Kris wrote were good.

If Woodstock had happen ten years sooner, we probably would have gone but by the time it rolled around we already had a business, house payments, a family----and a dog

Thanks for posting, EU. I'd be glad to show you how to post videos, if interested let me know.

Who else remembers this transformational inspiration?

I am not sure if this is transformational but it is sort of inspirational. I feel better every time I hear it.

And then there is this - for those those times when I aspire to a higher station in life than my current stop.

Brent - that is a good one! Brings back some great memories traveling with my uncle at the time... That song must have been playing because it brings back the memory of shooting a Hawkins he built from one of those kits. They were Coors drinkers and he rested the barrel on a branch. I was on my tippy toes and boom! Off my feet and on the ground. They laughed their ass off. We chuckle about that every now and then. Great song! :)

Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger

This might not be exactly on the thematic tack, but it is a superb version of a superb song and the perfect night cap to a nice evening for me and Gus as the woodstove burns on and we call it a night.

Elkduds, noharleyet, Sytes, Brent

It is no longer Friday---but I have been busy trying to explain to some young men and one woman , how a double can be faster when discharging 2 or 4 shots but not three --if you know what your doing. If you dont you could discharge one shot ( two barrels same time ) and never have time for three and four LOL

Anyway---This thread made me remember "Yesterday" sang by Roy Clark ---- it may not be what fits this thread, but it certainly fits when the majority of ones life is in the rear view mirror

Yesterday, when I was young the taste of life was sweet, as rain upon my tongue (-;

Everyone has yesterdays, even, and often especially, the sad ones can be inspirational.

Nice one, Europe. Everyone can relate. Apparently the Beatle's could relate as well. :)
