Alright all you 70's mushroom guys or any mushroom aficionado. What kind are these and why do the elk like to chew on them?

I saw elk one year picking out some little white mushroom as they were moving up a ridge. Couple days later I came across a 5 gallon pail sized pile of little white mushroom vomit. Guess it didn't sit well with the elk, but maybe they got a good trip from it?
