Ford Ranger or Nissan Frontier

Looking into getting a truck. I think I either want a 3rd gen ranger or 2nd gen frontier. What do y'all think?
3rd gen ranger production ended in 2012. The Frontier 2nd gen started in 2005. I'd be looking more at mileage, maintenance and rust and make my decision that way.

Not a fan? I've heard the Nissan will be a more reliable and comfortable truck but I could be wrong.
Agree that the Frontier is more comfortable plus you have the option of a crew cab in the Nissan, something ford did not offer on the 3rd gen ranger

dont get a Nissan with the cummins v-8 diesel,,i heard of alot of problems with those 4th or 5th gen//,,if you can find a older ranger with the 2.3 4cyl they are a good motor{non turbo}

Got her a 2010 Xterra back in 2013 with pretty low miles. The intelligent power module fried and killed the fuel pump with it. A couple years later she was rear ended and totaled, and we replaced it with a 2012 Xterra with low miles again. That one has had several electric system issues also, mostly with the anti theft lockout. My 2011 F150 just hit 180,000 miles and everything that has happened to it has been something I could fix pretty easily.

That totaled that truck? mtmuley
In the eyes of the insurance people.
The settlement was better to total it.
Not happy about the outcome, but I was concerned about paying extra money to repair it, but also not knowing if anything sub surface was compromised. I also didnt want to wait 4 months.

I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier. It has 360,000 plus miles on it and is still going pretty strong. I think it's a great little rig, but maybe I just got lucky!
