Football General Talk

Bears were solid.
Another game the Patriots let slip between their fingers. The young quarterbacks interception in the end zone the difference between a win or loss.

If they scratch out a few more they should be in the drivers seat of the nfc north.
Maybe so, but I do not see them beating the Green Bay or Detroit teams that played today, and they sure as heck could not beat the Chicago team that played on Thursday. That offense is not one iota, better than it was in Week One. Meanwhile, the competition is improving leaps and bounds every week.

Maybe, so, but I would still bet on SF. I i think they are the team to beat.

Meanwhile, Minnesota scratches out another one. But I think their luck is about to change, unfortunately.
Ya know @BrentD, we have the same outlook as to our teams seasons. But the Vikings are looking better than my team. mtmuley

Yes, I would agree with you. I think the cowboys done stuck a fork in it. They play nowhere near their potential. And I see no sign that is going to change.

The Vikes could be dangerous if they ever get an offense. But they have to do that this year. I think next year, Flores is gone. So if I was O'Connell, i would offer a path my salary to add to what he's already got and keep him in Minnesota somehow.

The cowboys might invest in a shrink. I do not see why they are not playing better. It has got to be something stuck in their heads.

Discipline @BrentD. None there. Lots of talent. No discipline. mtmuley

I gaurantee if Matt Lafleurs packers are 3 or 4 in the nfc north at the end of the season his head will be on a pike.

Down to one undefeated team in the league. Chiefs looked completely brain dead in the first half, while there were some flashes of offensive spark in the second half.

First time ever for Mahomes to not have a red zone play in an entire game.

You guys are too harsh on your coaches.
I think they should have moved on from Mark Gudekuntz the general manager 5 years ago.

If you are happy with making the playoffs and bowing out in the first or second round of the playoffs you keep the status quo. If you want to take it to the next level and win league championships and super bowls you figure out what it takes. Lafleurs teams in his whole time as a head coach have not been able to play all phases of the game for the entire 4 quarters. That’s not the players or their abilities, that’s coaching. They’ve tried different coordinators and specialty coaches with the same result, at some point you have to look at who’s at the top and that’s lackeys and gudekuntz. The play of the offensive line during the first 7 games has been horrific, especially on run blocking. A running play means the lineman take the push to the defensive lineman. They don’t play paddy cake and get pushed into the hole the play is supposed to go through.

The Cowboys coaching staff has called out Pickens for lack of effort. This is the cowboys in a nutshell for many years. Loads of talent, but always one or more cancers on the team. These cancers trickle down through the locker room and set a culture that breeds mediocrity. Like muley said no discipline and yet to find a coach who can create that culture of discipline. I'd cut his ass and send a message. They will be a better team without him in the locker room.

I think the cowboys cancer begins in the owners suit and spreads to the locker room.

...no question, they are the clearinghouse for press releases
As long as we are still talking about the cowboys and the press releases are still being published there won’t be any change. At this point does Jerry really want to win or is he content still being the headline and still making money without a ring or even being a serious contender?
