Football General Talk

Packers sign Hall of Famer White, Favre turns 27 and wins a SB. Packers sign Hall of Famer Woodsen, Rodgers turns 27 and wins a SB. Packers sign "future Hall of Famer?" Parsons, Love turns 27 and wins a SB?
Besides the obvious warning about beware that correlations are not causations, do not trust explanations and predictions based on observation without theory. I know of no theory to bank on here, but bet your heart out, if you feel inclined.

So when does Love turn 27?
;)

November. This year. I'm still putting my money on SB 2027, not next year

Breaking news! Report from sources close to the Bears team, management has officially deemed the season a total loss and eliminated from the playoffs so scouts will be sent this weekend to closely evaluate next years QB draft class to determine who they will take with the first overall pick to be the next QB failure in the franchise.

After last night, they may have to fight with the Vikings for that privilege. :(

Biggest problem is their o line....not up to par, McCarthy is pressured on way too many snaps. They needed to get help for Skule he isn't mobile enough for speed rushers.

anyone want to comment on how good the Detroit offense looked? Either Chicago is really that bad on D or the Packers D is just that good!

Lack of offense from the Chiefs
Is that really surprising though? They weren't a high powered explosive offense last year and right now they don't have Rice and Worthy. Pacheco isn't exactly top tier RB either.

I'm surprised by going 0-2 and Mahomes finally lost 3 in a row but I wouldn't call that the most surprising headline.

To me, the more shocking headline has to be what the 49ers have been able to do with how injured that team is. 2-0 in two very tough fought games. I think they were considered to be a pretty average of the pack team - possibly winning a tough west division at a low win rate but can't ignore a 2-0 start just like the Cards and Rams in that division.

The NFC West may be what the NFC North was last year with 3 teams that are playoff worthy.

Another surprising story headline would be the Vikings offense. They are loaded with offensive weapons and its horrible play calling that they can't put up more points with finding a way to get them ball with quick plays negating the bad/hurt o-line that they appear to have.

6 points last night - 3 scoreless quarters.
Against the bears there were 2 scoreless quarters and another with just 2 FG.

Maybe JJ is just that bad in which case the Vikings really screwed up this offseason.

I didn’t expect them to be explosive. I watched a few minutes of the game yesterday and it looked to me like they have been busy wedding planning and not practicing.

How everyone had already anointed Jj as the savior is beyond me.

They didn't adapt late last year when Darnold was getting killed, so while I hesitate to blame play calling when the o line is playing Ole!, you aren't wrong in questioning why they don't change to quick hitting plays.

At least they are running the ball with occasional success.

With McCarthy out 2-4 well see if Wentz can fare any better. With the starting center and replacement left tackle ailing too I am not hopeful. Burrows out most of the rest of the year so we'll see if Jake Browning can wreak revenge again.

Jefferson and Chase will be able to compare complaints, I guess.

The most surprising team to me so far has been the Daniel Jones-led Colts.

It will be interesting to see how he does as the season continues. He’s a great athlete and started out on fire with the Giants- I wonder if perhaps he became a victim of his surroundings?

Watched the Minn vs Atl game. I know a lot of people are piling on JJ, but if Minn doesn't learn how to stop the run, it's going to be a long year. The backup RB had 76 and a td. And Bijan had 143 yards.
