Decided to photo dump some of my favorite photos from Alaska Float Hunting. Hoping others will do the same. Doubling back. If anyone knows how to drop a bunch of photos without doing it individually that would be great. lol

A bit small. But a bull none the less

Lining it thru the rapids. I have gone over these in a different style raft. Was not sure how the Soar raft would handle it so we lined it

Black bear with a cub is a no go in AK

Terrible picture of a grizzly we watched all day on the side of a mountain eating blueberries.

If you have spent any amount of time in a raft you may look at the pictures differently then someone who has. We cover well over a 100 miles on the water. Some say 110 some say 125. Who knows. But in any case. That beautiful calm water = less time hunting and more time rowing your butt off. Nice pictures but the current. That equals more hunting and less strenuous rowing. When I took my first rafting trip I could not figure out for the life of me how the old timer could pass us. Disappear out of site. Get out fish or call. Wait for us to catch up. Let us go by. Then here he comes to do it again. And he was by himself. We had 2 guys on paddles. Years later myself and my life long hunting partner do the same. Reading the water and timing. Practice locally before going and don't give up. It will click

I'd love to do a similar trip with my wife and son. I have rafted some and whitewater kayaked a lot so can read water, etc. The Logistics scare the crap out of me so I haven't moved on it yet. Might let my son (9) get a few years older before going. Likely just rent a raft if we ever do try it.

To those who asked. The green is a waterproof floating gun case (a Must) the clear plastic is an inflatable solar luci light. They work great. We hang them around camp to light it up at night. Especially for us older guys who need to pee in the middle of the night

Logistics is the only reason I haven't been to alaska. Have talked about it with the wife just for a vacation but then completely get turned off when planning.

Honestly. Its very simple. Its just far. I have heard different people say that about logistics. Picture going on any vacation. Flight, vehicle, lodging or camp. Easy. Raft rental. Easy. Its all pretty easy. I don't do tourist areas so that helps. Things are not booked up or crowded. Happy to help if desired. You do have to roll with it in AK though.
