First time pronghorn

According to some you'll need a cooler capable of holding 60 pounds of deboned meat for each pronghorn.

I'm heading to WY for antelope next week, guess i'd better pack my biggest cooler then........

One thing i did with my daughter was print out pictures of antelope and have her shoot a .22 at them. At like 30 yards or so. That way it's a realistic sight picture of what she'll be shooting at, low impact as far as sound and recoil so she doesn't develop bad habits. With the adrenaline she won't even feel or hear the .243 in the moment. My 12 yr old made a 350 yard shot. She had only ever practiced with the big gun to 100 yards. I had the gun sighted in zeroed at 300 so all she had to was hold right on. You can do that for her. A solid rest really helps too. Then it's just finding and antelope you want to shoot! I'm a terrible judge of them so i just look for one that I fancy. I can't wait for you to post of pic of you and her with her antelope!

Great advice. I only wish i would have thought of this before I took her out there.

Had to come home early due to family medical concerns, but we still had a great time together. Made lots of good memories. She had so much fun she wants to hunt more. Good news I think!?!?
