With my son getting old enough that I wanted to get him a nice knife, it got me looking into the custom knife world. Seeing prices and realizing I would eventually need to buy one for each of my 3 sons, I thought I might try building some instead. Here is my first attempt at a knife. I have 3 more in the batch that are mostly just waiting for the scales to go on. It's not perfect, but overall I was really happy with the results. Now that I know it can be done and have learned some lessons, I will likely buy some better steel for the next batch.

Are you also making a leather sheath for it? If so that's also quite a project. If not I know of a place where you can send the knife and they will make one for it!!

Each of these three listed businesses will make a sheath for a knife that you will have to mail to them so they can make it perfectly for that particular knife. Hope this helps.
