Finally got out again and I don't know who was happier me or the horses. Tried out the new pack horse and for a 5 yr old mare thats never been riden or had anything more than a halter on she did very good. She was headed for the packing plant and I picked up for a cheap song as the owners couldn't afford to feed her.

The group this year was small 11 people and 15 horses.

Crappy part is it's a 2 hr drive from where we load the horses to were we start to ride. Then to make matters worse you have to eat these Brookies for lunch when you get there.
Truthfully I work my arse off most of the year now and I savor every last minute in that country for several weeks during the summer and fall.

Cheyanne, my pack horse in the top picture had never been ridin or packed before I got her. She was a bottle fed from birth [ her mother had a some kind of infection] lawn ornament. Well the guys I ride with dared me to climb on her. She not only let me ride but she's rides smoother than my other horses. Crap now I have to find another pack horse.
Quite a change from the unheaalthy gal I picked up.
