The spirit of Festivus is strong this year.

My 16 year old son had two tags in his pocket this morning. Now he has none.

I don't think I've ever seen so many elk in one day on a hunt. He did some very admirable shooting at 366 yards, since it was difficult to close the distance with so many eyes watching.

Please don't think we are kill-joys, as all the meat has gone to people who need it. It was a great day.

Nice work putting the animals in the freezer at this time of the year.

I have a couple model 70's in the gunsafe, one is the EW like yours, but in a .325wsm, neat gun, just wish the stock had an extra inch LOP to it. Shoots ok, doesn't put em into a thumbnail at 100m, but good enough for the larger deer species i use it on.

You all had a heck of a season! Good to see your son representing the Old Dominion. I had a good visit to that neck of the woods in October and hung a tag on a similar elk. Veal elk are delicious.
