Feeling discouraged.

Mt opener was a tough hot weekend. Murphy showed up early and stayed late and it was so hot out there I was ready to try some out Greenhorns green beer :hump:

Definitely not helpful for finding elk. I think you had a slim chance at first light - maybe. Then they were parked. Near full moon did not help.
I covered a lot of miles. a lot of miles, and did not cut a fresh track.
Spent mid morning through mid aft in the heavy, snow covered, north facing dark timber. My one mistake is I prob should have been as low as possible. Still did not
cut a fresh track in the snowy stuff.
Some hunts are like that. Most of the time I dont get into elk until day 4 or 5. You finally figure out what works and where they went.
Once I got home my buddy, who lives near the area got into elk and texted me to come over. Next time, eh.
Can't ever give up. That's why they call it hunting.
