Amen on the Paintbrush.

Took this last June. Slide Rock Mountain of the John Longs in the background.

I think this has to be one of the funniest threads I have read here in awhile, between the flowers, butterflies, threats of kitten pics (something most people do not attribute to stereotypical manly hunters) juxtaposed with comments like Chucky's, "Dear god hunting season has to start fast. Youre now posting your favorite wildflowers."

Reminds me of the movie Greenfingers (based on real event) with the British prison inmates that begin a gardening program and eventually end up winning a major flower competition at Hampton Court. One inmate hearing some of the prisoners discussing flowers in the gym remarks, "Daisies, pansies and buttercups, you blokes are a disgrace to the prison system."

Dont get me wrong, I am totally into flora and fauna and have a number of male hunter friends that are great photographers of both. I think the Hunt Talk setting is what makes this thread all the more cute. ;)

Maybe a man card check for us Hunt Talkers left behind with the women and children?

Kat, you didn't just use the words "Hunt Talk" and "cute" in the same sentence did you?

While some Hunt Talkers are bear hunting others are taking pics of wild flowers. Odd.:)

Methinks the 'gentleman' doth protest too much.:)

Just for the record, I don't think dink is effeminate....ambidextrous maybe.

mdunc, good pics.....the butterflies I wash off my fairing and sunglasses aren't quite that eye appealing.

. . . .I thought for sure someone from CO would post their favorite "wildflower/plant" pic. . .I was wrong. . .carry on.:)

Don't forget your man card if you want to pick one of these. It's gonna involve some pain.

And here's a cool butterfly. It's the only one I've ever seen with transparent wings.

My Botany and Plant Physiology professor in college used to always say "Plants are sexier than animals"...and then give some sort of crazy reason why but it was usually because plants can "do it" so many different ways like self pollinate, cross pollinate by wind or a pollinator, or asexual reproduction via stolons and rhizomes

The fact this thread has gone two pages during spring bear and turkey proves one thing.

This place has gone to seed.

Sex is a marketing tool. This just came up on my science feed. Must have had the same professor. :) Fern Gene Has Strange And Sexy Origins "Some genes are just a whole lot more promiscuous than others," I love fiddleheads and they taste good too.

A little different direction, but appropriate for the thread. Look close, actually 2 for the price of one.
