Father’s Day

+1! Going to call my Dad, and our youngest daughter who is temporarily living with us will be on the couch watching NASCAR with me. Thick cut ribeyes and HUGE shrimp will be grilled later. Deviled eggs, deer salami and cheese, expecting a full belly!

As for me , gearing up now for a morning hike in the Roosevelt Kingdom and crank some CREED FISHER and AARON LEWIS in the truck while I’m up on the mountain, They are my 2 favorite country singers I’ve herd in the past few years , there music ain’t on the radio , then later today fling some arrows and then go see my pops and have a few dark beers , and eat something good

Went to the pool with the wife for our allotted 2.5 hrs (private pool and we STILL have to freakin sign for a slot) a bit earlier with a fair bit of rum having been drunk, going to eat at a seafood place tonight with the wife and HP (big one is in grad school in IN) and chill. I was not one who looked to be a dad, didn't have the best of examples as a kid and might have been kind of scare by it buuuuuut I have loved it and couldn't be more proud of my kids. :)

Found an old logging coming into the back corner off a clear cut and followed it in a bit , found the elk are using it all the time , the trail was kinda obvious

around the base of the tree was shavings from April when he was trying to loose his antlers,
A668B700-8C2A-41E9-ADAF-E40F221397BB.jpegended up spending 4 and half hours working through this area. Found several more areas with heavy rubs from last seasons rut and a few trails I didn’t know existed. Was close to the herd that’s in here but have yet to see them , in my 2 trips in this area , it’s a larger group of 20 plus from the sign I’m seeing, I’m curious to see how many spikes are in with them , maybe next time,
then it was home and elk tacos for lunch
