Extreme hunting pressure in region 7.

NR adult draws a license and the youth can purchase the same license OTC at the game and fish office iirc.

Just another end around the NR "cap".

"Oh, it's only another 100 tags...", yea, except there are like a million carve outs.

The wildlife in region 7. Mind blowing and I know it’s probably all legislated, but at some point I would expect fwp to step up and ask for some help.

🙃 those youth hunters are great. They pay for bma 🫡
I think we need a reboot of what we are doing. It is going to take the people voted in to understand wildlife management but also agree with your political views from all the other aspects. Quite the conundrum. It will continue to get worse.

Nothing is going to change

It looks like Montana makes around $700k just in youth big game tags. That is quite a bit of cash, I’m sure it goes a long way towards conservation and access.
I think thats about what they spend on doing phone surveys that could be a surveymonkey email?

At least a NR youth hunter wont very likely visit more bma than theyre paying for.

Some real "Helena math" - that happens a lot on HT - is required to argue someone who paid for a NR 3 day upland tag is "paying for bma access."

Gotta be cognitive dissonance, i imagine, when you hear a pair of NR upland hunters defending the hunt they want to go on and not acknowledging the reality.

It would be pretty easy to figure out the break even NR : R ratio where BMA contributions are equal.....
