Guy's,

My wifey's on my case to book our August family vacation. We've decided to go to Estes Park in CO the last week of August, this year.

I'm looking for any recommendations on where to stay, and/or what to do, etc..

We're looking for a Bed & Breakfast or something similar for a 5 night rental. (I know there are ton's of them in that area)

There will be 3 of us - my 9 year old daughter, wifey & me.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks !!

Screw Estes Park...lol Come down to my place and do some archery antelope hunting and I'll let you all stay in my house...lol

Hmmmm... that's tempting, and I may hold you to that some day !! :D

Unfortunately, this is the one trip a year with the family I need to do in order to go on my hunting trips - this year to South Dakota in November again.

I'm just glad they agreed on a place where we'll see tons of wildlife.. a good learning experience for the upcoming hunter.

We returned from our Estes Park trip late Friday - it was a great time & it was hard to leave such a beautiful state !!! Can't wait to get back !!

Here are some pics:

Happy wife, Happy life.

Least a bit of sanity with the wildlife to view.

That tour "Hummer" looks like it was some Texan's personal road hunting truck... Multi rifle / window rests, prob fridge for the beverages... Reminds me of a Carolina rig I saw...- Econoline - 4wd with 2 bass seats and spotting lights mounted on top of the rig. Haha!

Below are more pics of the Custom Toyota tour jeep - Hummers don't happen for me if you know what I mean....

One pic below is the l'girl & me on the real hot rods...

Saw this nice Elk on the way down one day about 30 yards from the road. And some decent mule deer closer to town another day. I think we'd have seen more wildlife in the early mornings, but I couldn't convince the girls we needed to do that on our "vacation"...

Haha! WOW! That stretched fj40 is awesome - haha! Pretty darn cool! Is that what it is? FJ40?

Great pic of that studly monster elk! Looks like you made the most of a trip for your family and you.

How fast do those karts go - at that track? 25? Looks like some good times.

It was a customized FJ40 or something, the owners brother in law made it for them and they had another one in the making for 2011.

The hot rods were lucky to top 20 mph.

The best part for me was the daughter getting her Junior Ranger badge on the last day...

The kids have to do a bunch of activities and fill out a workbook about the park ecosystems, animals, and such. A Ranger then quizzes them on what they learned and signs their book and presents them with a badge - Great stuff !!
