In other news, the 2nd cat that was taken in three oh three sounds like a real dandy if the pic I saw is indeed that cat. Makes the lambington twine kitten from a few years ago look like it was from Wild Horse Island.

I think I had a stroke reading that. But if its the kitty that I saw a pic of alive I don't know how someone in good conscience could pull the trigger on it.
Also as sort of a late joiner of this thread earlier this year I love this thread but I do see the problem. I was thinking about hunting in general and about SM posts as well as YT videos and how I think they hurt more than they help. I am as much to blame as the next guy as I love a good hunting video but I also am tired of seeing so many people at every trial head that I pull up to.
This is all to say that I may puss out on a hunt or two but until FWP decides to shut the UL down I will be up there every year until I fill this damn tag. And then maybe I be I'll be a little bit closer to being as cool as @buffybr. So if this sucker gets nuked by ol' BigFin or Mrs.BigFin thanks everbody for the great stories I have truly loved hearing all the history around this hunt.

I'll likely never make it to the Unlimiteds. I've enjoyed reading this thread many times, but it's hard not to support deletion with the implications of information sharing today.
This kind of hits me in one of my great internal conflicts. I love reading a good hunt report, especially when it has some great photos. I just can't write them up myself, though, as it always feels like I'd be pulling the curtain back on something I'd prefer to protect. In a way it kind of makes me a hypocrite.

Fair point; though, I had a customer several decades ago whom I assume no one participating on this forum knows or knew who probably exceeded Nugent's lust for blood and was notorious for that trait. Ted Nugent at least wraps his enthusiasm in a cloak of meat-eater spirituality. When that customer of mine came up as the topic of discussion in conversation with another customer in the firearms and archery shop I owned and operated for a decade beginning in late 1970s, the customer telling of the incident related how "E" virtually lit up at the prospect of getting to put down a horse*.
* Too many years have passed for me to recall if the animal was sick and foundered, or just exceedingly old. Either way, it would not have mattered to "E" who was simply thrilled for the opportunity to do the deed.

That is much more in line with what I had hoped the thread might inspire. I might be about the oldest fart participating here, but I sometimes suspect that I am the most naive despite my distrust of government and bureaucrats. Am trending maudlin and senile probaly. Oh well, at least I ain't rambling on about kids rubbing the hair on my legs!
