Economic Speculation Music Friday

Whenever I hear this song it takes me back to 1973, driving down an old logging road in my Dad's '69 GMC as he talked about how the little logger was at the mercy of the mills and the lumber markets, then proceeded to give to me his first-hand accounts about the workin' man and his plight. A lot of wisdom was dumped on a nine-year old while bouncing along in that old truck.

If Gene Watson is going to sing it, you can count on it covering the bases of a country music lesson - love, half-pint of wine, and high maintenance romance costing more than a mill worker can afford.

High maintenance anything, is costly
