Thanks to Moosie, 'Gunner, and Elk Turd for taking me duck hunting this past weekend.

Saturday, Oscar and I headed out to Bob's place for some ducks. About an hour after getting the decoys out, we called in a hen and drake mallard. I think I hit one, but both hit the water. Later that day we had a couple of goldeneyes land upriver from us. The current carried them by as they were diving so....bang, bang! One was a bit too far for Moosie to reach, so like any good dog he swam a bit for the retrieve! Here's Saturday's take.

Sunday, Moosie and Elk Turd brought the boat down the river to meet 'Gunner and I at Bob's. Once set up, we got one drake mallard to come in. I shot, ET shot, I shot, dead duck. I'm not sure if ET was just being nice or testing to see if I was a prick, but after picking up the duck he asked, "Did you hit that or me?" Well, if I did hit it, it was after he folded it and I shot it on the way down!

Congrats on your Retriever.... He is certainly developing into a fine swimmer. And like MTMiller said, occasionally you just have to whack him up side the head to make him behave.

All right, which one of you Un-Ethical bastards shot the Hen mallard? Next thin I know, you will tell me you were sleucing them on the water. And finally, you will tell me that you were drinking beer the night before, in the presence of children.

I was really kidding about the not drinking thing...I'm past that.

How did you end up going? The Southwest way, or did you make the drive south? How long was the drive?

Haha...you had to ask. I went over towards Twin Falls, dropped down through Jackpot, Elko, and was supposed to cruise right into Vegs BUT as you know I have a habit of not falling directions, and instead of turning not far after Elko, I continued straight and ended up going close to 120 miles out of my way. It wasn't until I could see the Pacific ocean that I realized I goofed <grin>. Not really, but it was funny it didn't register sooner, as I kept asking myself why the compass was reading west for so long and the damn sun was setting right in front of me. I ended up cutting south not far from the Cali border and dropped into Indian Springs, which is where I had to go on Thursday night anyway.

I came back the correct way...took me 8 hours which is damn good. It took me 9 hours down there and back when I went a few weeks ago.

The trip was all pleasure this time, and was a whole lotta fun. Never take porn paraphernalia from one flapper and hand it to another...I almost had my butt whooped by an illegal immigrant

Other than that, the trip was totally normal...you know, drank 20 margaritas more than my body could physically handle, spent the night with Britney Spears after she proposed to me, and came home with a birthday gift...you know the one that keeps giving

So when are we going? We could probably work in some chukar hunting with T-Bone too, eh? Geez, I need to quit inviting myself on hunts hosted by other people. How rude!!!

But, I will give him credit for bringing a Box of FatTire, but then I will have to take some credit away, as he kept drinking them....

Nevada is not one of those states you want to miss a turn, as the next turn is a couple of hours away.... You ever been to Austin, Nevada???

And sorry to hear the thing with Brittney didn't work out..

as I know after spending 9 hours listening to her CD's on the way down, you would have had your heart set....

It is also interesting to note I can't stand Jimmy Buffet's music, but his little Margaritaville joint kicks azz...great food, and excellent margaritas. Did I say I probably drank 20 more than I should have?

As far as my CD collection goes, don't knock it until you've seen it. I have Brittney, Lilo & Stitch, Scooby, Kids Bop 1,2,3,4, and Hillary Duff just to name a few. You can't tell me as a father of two young girls you don't have a similar selection? You know Hillary Duff is going to be in Vegas on Feb 7th, I was thinking about taking my little one down there...she rocks

I got dragged to a Jimmy Buffet concert in San Jose, CA one time. Had no interest, but it was a cute chick that wanted to go...

I was amazed by all the 30-40somes sitting around me, smoking weed and drinking. They were close to my parent's age, at the time. In any event, I watched ol' Jimmy singing to the ParrotHeads, and realized how much fun his music is in the Summer time. Since then, he has been a regular in my CD collection, which results in my girls knowing all the words to Margaritaville and Last Mango in Paris....

And yes, we do get the Bubble Gum music from Brittney and Hillary... But I can't listen to it on long trips, as I go to sleep. Right now the girls are into Sheryl Crowe, which is acceptable to all parties....

Found 4 tickets for $300 on the floor to the Hillary concert. My wife (chaperone), daughter, and your girls can go to the concert. You and I can head over to Buffet's. I'll buy the first round, you can buy all subsequent rounds

'Gunner- Thanks for the idea of the mock-potatoes, I've been eating them all week!

BTW, I think I did leave a few Fat Tires on the porch when I left.

And at least one goldeneye got off the water, about 4", before it got shot!

Ovis- Yeah, just invite yourself, they seem to like it. I've had a few times where I've vowed to never drink again. But, what doesn't kill ya, makes you stronger, right?

If you guys get a Vegas trip together, let me know when and I'll invite myself! I can be there in 5.5hrs.
