Drew Colorado 3rd season rifle

Drew CO 3rd season rifle in units 71, 711. This will be my first time in these units, although the friends I'm going with have huntd there before. 6 of us, 6 deer tags, 2 cow elk and one junior over the counter bull tag. I'm stoked, havent hunted outta state in over 10 yrs. Has anyone hunted these units, got any info. I'm just happy not to have to rely on southern CA A zone to try and fill the freezer.

Hunted there in 03...2nd rifle, otc bull. Good area, saw mulies and elk.. Staying in Dolores or camping?

Sounds like we will be camping pretty near where you base camped. Like I said I've never hunted there but the other guys have and have been very successful.We applied as a group last year for deer and didnt get drawn. One buddy of mine had put in for cow elk and was lucky. He took his animal on the 3rd day. I,m really looking forward to go hunting where you see game in abundance rather that count your self lucky to maybe see one buck for the entire season. Good luck on your hunt..
