Have any of you guys considered trying UGG boots for hunting? My wife loves them because they are so warm due to the sheep's wool lining. My feet freeze while hunting and they make some men's boots that aren't bad looking and seem like they would be warm. I realize I would take a lot of flack from my hunting buddies but if my feet stay warm then I can handle it. They are actually designed to be worn without socks but figure I would wear a pair of light wool socks with them just to keep the boots fresher. Surely I'm not the only one to consider them. They might not be durable enough for a hardcore backcountry hunt but for my Oklahoma deer hunting and treestand archery hunting I think they would be just fine. What do you guys think?

Here are a couple links. The first is a pair on the UGG website and the second I assume is a discontinued pair on eBay that I can't find on their official website.

As far as wearing them without socks...

Not sure about you, but when I wear any of that sort of sheeps lined stuff W/O Socks... The boots/slippers quickly begin to gain a particular "bouquet" of Bad Meat, or Amazing Cheese...

If you really want a pair of WARM boots you can hunt in, take a look at These...

I have a Nearly identical pair to the 13" Grizzly (different company, but the real difference is the sole). Not only are they a really warm pack boot, but beyond the wool batting, they also have 400grams of thinsulate. I picked them up year ago for a BC Moose hunt. I have worn them on semi-active hunts below zero, stationary hunts to about +10. As well as a few hikes in ine -5 to -10degree territory. No Cold feet yet! With these and a quality pair of wool socks, if your feet get cold the rest of you will be cold too.

Just make sure that you get some nice camo skinny jeans, and if they are waterproof, heck ya! I run around in moccasins all the time during archery season, they make me feel sneaky!

Ok... Didn't think this could get funnier... I checked my Facebook page, and now UGG is a recommended page for me and one of my new "featured sponsors". Now each time I log into my facebook for the next week or so, I get reminded of this thread.

I hope Dink is monitoring this thread for pointers to retain his title as Colorado's sexiest hunter.

You will be taken to be re-educated shortly comrade. First though you much watch this Video

Pay special attention to the line: "Leather boots are still the style for MANLY footwear...."

It showed up for me today too. On a brand new computer that I hadn't even looked at UGG's on yet.

FB does seem to get very good at targeted advertising... There was about a 3 month period for me, as a 27 year old guy. There were only 3 types of adverts... Dating sites, fast cars, and insurance companies...

I just hunt in this.

I believe it is a Dinkshooter signature series..
