I email my reps regularly and never receive any political calls or texts.

Like @Wild Bill I have always assumed it's because I'm not affiliated with a party, but perhaps that's not the case since @gouch lives nearby

I wonder what places people on their radar. Hmmm... maybe a lobbyist might know?

Montana no one is required to register their political affiliation. We have open primaries.

I receive countless State and Federal calls, texts, and emails daily.

Years ago (early 80s) my dad and some buddies convinced an army recruiter to endlessly hound a 50 yo buddy of theirs as a willing 20yo enlistment candidate. Finally the buddy was so frustrated at all the calls and mail that he went in person and showed the recruiter his discharge papers after service in Korean War.

Done neither. A whoopload of emails via their website preset requests for name, #, email, then onto designated interest drop-down, and sub drop box, if needed, then finally, keyboard the message.
I was informed, that information alone opens me to their own frequest Tester/Daines emails, along with third party distribution. This is what I'm under the impression is the catalyst to various Super Pac funding.

@VikingsGuy , your recruiter story reminds me of the time my buddies were peeved I was P-whipped and dogging out on spending time with them.
They sent my pic, a detailed story about me to the, then 2000s TV show called Blind Date. Only they added my g/f's contact info...
She received a message knew they were messing with me and signed me up.
Next I knew, she was taking me on a special date and we end up at the casting office. Haha! She is an actress. The tables I sat around, we were b.s.ing and most all candidates for shows are actors trying to build their resume.
I failed miserably in front of the camera for the casting test!
She was always one step ahead of them and me... hah!

I did that to a couple friends in HS when the recruiter from the Marines did a presentation at school. Guy was relentless.

Anytime anyone asks for my phone number and email I give them my brothers. Been doing it for years.
