Elk have returned to their historic winter range in the Gros Ventre River drainage, and one theory for their reappearance is the targeted killing of resident wolves.

the elk don't want to be eaten by wolfs , so if the wolfs are reduced they will return
this happened to a area near me , the state came in and removed a pack (they were being bad wolfs) and we
saw elk wintering in the area again
