So is the Delta unit any good for sheep? I heard its a long walk, and most people don't kill anything. Is that true?

I was thinking about putting in for it next year. Anyone have any experience with that unit?

Thanks

I put in for ds203 every year, with no success. Odds suck for that tag. I've got some buddies who have been successful on that hunt though who would give me a hand.

Ask Ovis how good it is. Really mild winters the last several years and just a lot of Rams in general. Im sure your question was in jest but have fun.

Did that hunt back in 2005. Let me know if you draw and I'll share some info with you. I took this ram 23 miles from the truck and saw 8 other legals.

Nice ram! We need more pictures.

Sure, this is the bigger of the two rams I've taken, 36.75 x 14.25 bases. The taxi actually had to use the middle size stone sheep form to mount him because his cape wouldn't fit on any of the regular dall sheep forms. My cousin went with me on this hunt to help pack and I shot him 23 miles in, also had a couple side trips, and came back out in 4 and a half days. Figured we were doing about 13 miles a day with 50lb packs going in and around 100lb packs coming out. Screwed my knee up pretty bad on day 3 but was still able to push hard and beat a snow storm that rolled in the day after we got out.
Heavy bases

One of the mts we have to go over on the way out.

There's plenty of legal rams in there, we saw 9 legals including this guy, like all hunting you just have to be willing to hike further than the other guy to find them.

He is incredibly heavy! What a great ram. That got me in the mood. Come on August. Thanks for the pictures.

You going to try for them again Lawnboy? Tossing around the idea of going again myself this year. Strictly trophy hunting if I do though, getting sick of packing out all these scrub rams. :D

Hey if it's full curl or legal It is not a scrub!!!:D Curse you Alaska guys. Just give me one and nobody gets hurt:D Man I've been 3 times and haven't connected yet. The short 4-5 day trips don't really help my odds but that's all I can give. Fourth times a charm

Great shots TB. My GF drew a tag this year, I was just being facetious.

Of all the hunts to line up this fall this was the easiest. I sure hope I can get her on a nice sheep, after going a hunt last year with me, she has 'sheep fever'.

I'm open to any info I can get. If we strike out, we might bag the goat hunt and go back the last week and hunt 4-5 days.

Drew DS204 for the second time in 3 years, didn't get the big ram I was hoping for in 09 so I hope to remedy that this fall. Planning on being there on the 26th of Aug and coming out on the 5th of Sept.
