No I never plan on taking a frontal while archery hunting but on a deer I’m not afraid to under right conditions. He was at 60 but I guessed him at 75. I had him bedded in a pocket of timber waiting to stand up and had been ranging rocks and jack pines in his only pathway out of that stand of trees. Then I had some day hikers roll through the basin talking loud and laughing and it spooked him out into the open, I drew my bow when he got up but he stopped in the middle of that clearing looking at those hikers with the sun in his face so I sent it.So you had planned on taking a frontal on a deer? How close were you? That's a pretty small opening. Glad it worked out though...

Nice buck! At the very least the meat wasn't wasted. Those coyotes get to live another day and the trophy was recovered. This was my daughters 2024 buck. She shot it the day before Thanksgiving and we werent able to locate him that night. The next day we went to recover him, and as you can see the coyotes got to him.
