After three years of limited hunting time, she finally was able to put one down. The first year included a swing and a miss, with a few tears shed. Second year no birds within range. Real tough with all the activities from church, school, and sports that a thirteen year old is involved in.

But, this year the first morning out she smoked a nice jake. He came in all wound tight with the bright red head blazing, ready to take out my decoys. After the shot his buddies proceeded to kick the crap out of him, wished I'd had my ten year old with for a double.

Even had a bearded hen come by, pretty nice beard to boot.

First pic is right after the bearded hen came by and walked out of our life.

Last is her showing me the lesson she taught my blind. I had just checked to make sure she was clear and told her to shoot, then I turned to watch the birds.

She was pretty worried about it, I told her some guys notch their guns, some mark their hats, you just marked the blind and added some character. But, if she shoots too many more I'll have to get a new one.

A hole in the blind for a bird and a happy girl..................................Good trade in my book!

Congrats to both of you.

Congrats to you and your daughter! Now when you see that hole in the blind it will always remind you of that hunt and the time you got to spend with her.

Very cool. We got very close yesterday to getting my daughters first but things didn't work out. Good times for sure!
