Fell off a ladder today 3rd or 4th step up. Landed on left side, hit my head on a mop sink curb. Hard head is OK, 5th rib on right is cracked. Got a month and a week or so before archery elk season starts. I'll refrain from shooting for two weeks to give it time to heal up. Probably turn a bow down to start back up then and check for pain or stress. 45 lbs.

Rub some dirt on it. Seriously though glad it wasn't worse. Ladder falls can be bad even close to the ground. Heal up. mtmuley

I got bucked off a horse one year and cracked ribs, right in the middle of allergy season. I had a sneezing fit one day that left me in so much pain I absolutely wanted to die.

OP, hope you heal quickly.

Took some Hydrocodine? last night. Slept like a baby. Took another this morning and worked pretty hard all day and things are looking up. The meds have worn off by now and its feeling a whole lot better. Things are looking up. I did lower the weight on a Maxxis 31 to just about 50 and it didn't hurt to pull it back. I did accidentally touch the trigger on the release while letting it down. The saying is you can dry fire a Hoyt without serious consequences and the only damage was the tied in peep that flew across the room. I'll just keep healing and see how it feels later in the week. Thanks for your thoughts.

I drove 1010 miles between yesterday at 3:30 and today at 5:30. Did not get a lot of sleep. All that to hang a camera and get some intel. Slept on a cot behind the Buick, got about 4 hr sleep. Went down the road to look to see what was about and saw several groups that totalled around 60 elk in a couple mile stretch. approx 20 bulls total. No monsters but I'm still looking for my first antlered bull. Gives me confidence on the area. Not much cell service there but see what I can get for pics.
