This whole thing is stupid. Hopefully the answer to these questions will finsh this duscussion up.
2 Statements were made.
Wyo556- Muzzleloaders will never be allowed during archery only season.
T-Jones-Crossbows will never be allowed during archery only season in MT.

T-Jones poins out that I am wrong as there are a few units in MT that allow muzzlelaoders, shotguns, crossbows, and pistols during archery only season and posts the unit info. I read the info and agree that apparantly I was wrong according to his info.

I then point out that according to that same info that he posted that shows muzzleloaders, shotguns, crossbows, and pistols are allowed in a few units in MT during archery only season that his statement was also wrong. He won't admit he is wrong.


According to the info T-Jones provided we are both wrong IMO.
According to T-Jones I am wrong and he is right.

So here is the question 1, are muzzleloaders allowed in MT during an archery only season even if it is only a few units with limited hunting dates or for does only?

So here is question #2, are crossbows allowed in MT during an archery only season even if it is only a few units with limited hunting dates or for does only?

From what I can understand the answer is Yes, and Yes.

I don't think they've filled you in on everything. The archery only season was Sept. 01- Through to Jan 15 - You can't use the crossbow until the Dec. 1st through January 15 portion. The either sex portion is the archery only part of that. Crossbows, and the other stuff can't shoot bucks. Archery only for bucks that's why it states it that way. There is a archery only portion where just hand held bows are allowed, and that's the regular archery only season state wide.

It's no different than any of our general areas. Archery only last for the first 6 weeks, no crossbows are allowed anywhere in the state in that time frame. You are welcome to use the crossbow after that during the general season.

Tjones was right, there's no place in Montana that during our archery only season you can use the gaybow, I mean crossbow.
