There was a big herd of Elk walk through last night about a mile out. I went out this morning in robe and slippers with the binoculars to see if I could maybe get a couple pictures. No Elk but this guy was strolling down the ridge just to the north. 210yds ,248# hit him just behind the left shoulder and bullet stopped in the armor under the skin on the right side.

I passed on a nice buck a couple weeks ago because it looked like a bitch to retrieve him. My hunting partner and I discussed it and we figured we were getting too old to drag it out.

It's a familiar shot with a tried and true load and rifle. It takes a lot of the variables out.
