Coyote bounty/pelts in Ohio

Does anyone know if there is such a thing going on in Ohio? Is there a market for the pelts?

Coyote is going for a pretty good clip this year. From what I have heard $50 is realistic.

A trapper friend of mine ships his to Canada for auction; says they're only bringing $8.00-20.00 right now, but with our milder winters the pelts aren't of the highest quality.

Not in Ohio but I read PA is trying to get funds for a bounty

Bounties very rarely work and the data is out there. That being said, I would sure take advantage of it.

Yes, coyotes pelts are worth it. It depends on the quality, but there were lots of coyotes at the North American Fur Auction that brought over $90 with the top lot of 10 coyotes selling for $750 each. The eastern coyotes generally are not nearly as valuable as the western, light-colored coyotes, but they are worth saving. Find yourself a local fur buyer and discuss it with him. He will probably take them without you having to skin them.

This time of year, they are not worth much, as they start to rub pretty bad during breeding season. They are, however, still fun to shoot!

The very best pales are bringing good money. Those from Northern Montana, into Canada are tops.

I just sold 6 Montana coyotes at the same auction and averaged $65

I sold about two week ago in ND and got 55 to 65 for my nice put up coyotes and got 20 for a couple that had holes that I wasn't able to sew up. We shot two yesterday that were pretty rubbed up, so the price is going to be dropping.

Your Ohio yotes will be worth anywhere from $15-$50 depending on their quality and how good your put up is.If you sell on the carcass then I'd say $10 tops.I for one hope that Pa doesn't have a bounty put on them.I already have trouble with hunters stealing them.if they become a free $25 then I'm going to have a very frustrating trapping season
Never understood why someone would want to steal one other then to act like they got it.99% of the hunters here wouldn't know where to sell one or how to put it up for market so it makes no sense at all
