Moved into a new neighborhood this summer and learned that one of the new neighbors (whom I have known for about a year) was as avid a hunter as I was. We've spent many an afternoon reloading this fall and decided to go on a spur of the moment deer hunt this past weekend. Can be difficult finding public lands (accessible public lands) to hunt here in general areas but we found two sections that were very accessible. The weather happened to work in our favor this weekend and we saw plenty of deer in the two sections we could hunt. Here's the results of the hunt. Fantastic time out with a new hunting partner and fellow reloader, and meat on the table. Great weekend.

Heck, I'd be happy with either of those bucks after a week long hunt rather than a spur of the moment deal...congrats!

It's a custom rifle. I traded a $900 shotgun for it about a year ago. It's built off of a Mauser action, has a Douglas Premium barrel, Timney trigger, custom made one piece scope rings/bases, and one of the most beautiful stocks I have ever handled. The grip cap and butt cap are skeletonized and checkered and all of the checkering is hand done and immaculate. It's chambered in .280 Remington. I don't know a single thing about the guy that built it though. I was told his name was Dennis Barrett and he resides in either Michigan or Minnesota. It's a beautiful piece regardless. Thanks for asking.
