I’ve always wanted to give the Bighorn a shot even tho it’s kind of a fishing amusement park. Looks like a great float.

It doesn’t fish as well as it did 20 years ago. They let water out of the center of the dam for too many years and the water temperature was so warm, moss grew like spaghetti and choked the river.

The hatches they used to have on the Bighorn have dwindled from what they used to be. This time of w, PMDS would be all over the river and Black Caddis would almost choke you.

What is left though are some big fish and if you are willing to work for them, you can still catch some nice fish…

I never heard of the wedding, I have fished the Bighorn for over 40 years! We floated the upper 3 several times. We shuttled ourselves so we could go twice a day. M

But we weren’t alone…

The Wedding of the Waters is the name of the transition of Wind River in Wyoming near Thermopolis as waters wed and form the tributary of the Yellowstone known as the Big Horn River. All great waters.
