Thought I would share a few pics fom my drive up to Helena yesterday afternoon. Gotta love Montana, almost drive off the road several times each trip while checking out the sights....Looking forward to getting out of the car and hitting the hills on foot

Montana doesn't suck when it comes to roadside wildlife viewing.

no kidding about driving off the road... LOL!
Thanks for sharing the pics!

Many years ago... many! I worked as a "wrangler" for a lodge company in the Teton area... A japanese family asked me a couple interesting questions...
1. When do they let the animals out?
2. When do deer turn into elk...?
3. As a person tried to vere his horse over to a big paddle bearing moose... "Can I pet the moose?"
I should have said, "sure, why not!" Bet I could have sold that video for a mint!

Gotta love the scenery in Montana. Thanks again!

Nice pics, I went fishing at Holter yesterday and didn't see the elk. They must have moved back before we got there but the antelope are definitely doing well around CF reservoir.

Sytes;

Both my wife and myself used to work in Sequoia national park, back in the day.

Japanese tourist always asked the best questions, some of my favorites;

While looking over dozens of acres of wildflowers;
I would like to meet the gardener who takes care of these !

After a bear walks by;
Where is the zoo ?
What zoo ?
The zoo where they keep all of these animals at night !

Who feeds them ?

Can you get the bear to pose with us for a photo ?

The best had to be the time a mature black bear walked through a meadow, and into some thick brush.
Despite warnings, a Japanese man, with camera, follows the bear into the brush. A few seconds later,
We see the camera go flying, and the man runs screaming back out of the brush. Later, very indignant, he says “no body told me they were not tame”. (yes we did)

Driving through Montana is like a series of picture post cards.

Was just as good on the ride home this evening. Even found the same little bull not far from where he was on Friday. The single bull and moose are in Idaho.....
