Spotted these rams in Glenwood Canyon a few days ago! The younger rams (2) exited the scene when the ole boy came close. As the daytime temperatures and their activity have increased they've moved to new locations.

Colorado rams : A Wounded Warrior and another chasing the ewes!

A wounded warrior at rest showing slashing cuts by his neck and one just above the eye. This must have happened within the last few days as they just reappeared today!
The last photo shows an active ram going after an ewe who he's been chasing just before this photo was taken.
We've been having abnormally warm weather here in drought stricken Colorado. As a result many areas in the mountains have plenty of grass, both dry and green , for the sheep !

Student kansasdad reporting for schooling....... How old is the wounded warrior? I know you are supposed to count the growth rings. Can one of your ovis canadensis professors show me on the pic?

RE: arffdog875's question
I 'm using a Panasonic Lumix FZ200 camera with a 24x zoom and it has a Leica f2.8 lens throughout the zoom spectrum allowing plenty of light. There are many other features that are included in the camera as well!
