I'm planning on hunting the first rifle season in unit 12 or 24 this year but I'm concerned ohvs are going to be riding all over and I won't be able to get away from it. Does the motor vehicle use maps clearly show were ohvs can and can't be used or is there other maps I should check or am I just making it more of an issue than it is?

12 and 24 have huge chunks of wilderness and road less areas. It's all good habitat and elk will be on forest service land just about everywhere. The MVUM is a great way to find areas the quads can't go. You'll still have company on foot or horseback though. Those units are popular and 1st rifle tags are easy to come by. That's ok though. Plan you strategy on what you think the elk are going to do when pressured.
