Another great season. (Got to our spot an hour and a half too late.... some hunters from Michigan took 'my elk camp' of fifteen years. I was bummed to say the least, but we made due.) Nothing special as far as quality, maybe next year?, but we do it ourselves on public land and have a blast every year! We harvested 4 elk, had 5 tags. Not too shabby success rate.

Non-resident probably shot your 5th elk.

Nice job. Looks like fun.

Thanks fellas.( Yes Oak, the out-a stater, 66, sure did - his 10th trip, went 100 yds from their tent openin' morning and was done by 7:30. His first bull in 10 years hunting Colorado, a dandy 6x6. :) Happy for them.
Yes it was a great time regardless. No, I was the only one not to score?, ironically. I had my chance. BUT tag soup for yours truly. (1st time in 15 years, that hurt) However, I hope that means I will be blessed with a great buck his 4th season. note: Weather is righteous along the front range here today, perfect deer hunting weather. >15 degreess & 10 inches of freshy pow pow!
Good luck to you guys this season!

Mud : Thanks, and we hunt the 1st season rifle season. I always tell the crew, ' any legal elk is a trophy baby!' So the other elk include a small dog and an ugly raghorn, but they'll taste good. And, both hunters are thrilled, just not worthy album material.
