Clean coyote skull

White white isn't my thing I prefer the old ivory look with some tan and yellow aging so I don't overdo the peroxide either.
Honestly that’s more about the grease than the peroxide. You can clean a skull and peroxide the crap out of it and it will be super white for a couple of months but the grease will start to come up and it will turn that ivory color.
Most ivory yellow skulls just weren’t degreased.

The grease is a pain. Last one I did, I did 4 dawn dishwater soaks, an acetone soak for a week, then another dawn soak. Thinking I got it, but will know in a few months.

What is your ammonia process? Any special equipment needed?

Here was the cat skull I just did.
Looks good! I normally do a cup of ammonia in a bucket of water for 24 hrs. If you have a way to get the water heated up around 120 it works really good. If not I would let it sit for longer. Try to get clear ammonia the yellow stuff from most stores seems to give then a yellow tint.

Nice looking skulls guys. I have not tried doing one myself yet. Going to have to do it I guess. Especially if I get lucky enough to call in a wolf here before the season closes on them.

My POW bear was super greasy.

After like 6 months it was degreased and then I whitened it.

Thanks John. Those cat teeth just seem to be naturally glossy. Didn't do a thing to them. Got another cat finishing up degreasing now. Hopefully get to turn him white shortly too.

wllm1313, great pics on the bear and end product is perfect. Nicely done.
